You may have heard there is a new market in town! We are putting together a real maker and farmer’s market here in La Pine, named “Market Day La Pine”. This market is putting a focus on our community. The goal is to help vendors take their dream of creating and producing and give them an outlet in their own community to shine. The learning curve is huge in the Market world and we are hoping to help vendors in all the ways.
My name is Megan Wiebe, a La Pine resident for 20 years. I’ve raised my kids in this little town and love it SO much. I am putting this event together with the help of members of our community. I, myself, have been making candles for 4 years. I have attended hundreds of events all over central Oregon and have helped with organizing a few. I am excited to take my experience in this as well as my passion for food (retail grocery for 25 years) and put it to use for our community. Bringing fresh food, partnering with local businesses, and creating new partnerships.
By no means am I doing this event alone! Many know Cathy Williams, she helped with the creation of the “Sunrise Makers Market.” Cathy is helping with the market and will be a point of contact on event day. In addition to Cathy, my family and friends will be helping as needed. On event day, feel free to snag anyone with a Market Day La Pine lanyard, they can help you find you the answers!
This event will be held once monthly, May thru October, second Saturday of the month, 10am-2pm, at Frontier Heritage Park in the middle of town. In addition to a market of curated vendors, we will have a monthly featured non-profit that works within our community, as well as an information tent to help excite and guide future micro businesses. We are open to ideas and help in any capacity-we want this to be La Pine’s market! Should you have feedback or questions, don’t hesitate to use the “Contact Us” form.
